Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Out of the Box Merch, we believe that running a small independent merch business and caring about the planet aren't mutually exclusive. From our Edinburgh workshop, we take practical steps every day to reduce our environmental impact — here's what that actually looks like.

Recycling & Reusing Packaging

We reuse packaging materials wherever possible, giving boxes and protective materials a second life before they ever reach the recycling bin. When we do recycle, we sort paper, cardboard and plastics diligently to keep them out of the landfill. It's a small thing, but across hundreds of orders a year it adds up.

Responsible Sourcing

We carefully select suppliers based on their commitment to ethical and sustainable practices. That means fair labour standards, responsible manufacturing processes, and where possible, products made from sustainable or recycled materials. We'd rather work with the right suppliers than the cheapest ones.

Eco-Friendly Products

We actively look to expand our range of sustainable product options, so that bands and artists who care about their environmental impact can order merch that reflects those values. If sustainability is important to your project, get in touch, and we'll point you towards the best options for your order.

Always Improving

We're a small team, and we don't claim to be perfect, but we're always looking for new ways to do better - whether that's reducing energy use in our workshop, cutting down on single-use materials, or finding greener alternatives in our supply chain.
